On 17 may 2010, Andris Piebalgs, European Union Commissioner for Development, delivered a lecture at the University of Warsaw as part of the "Kapuscinski Lectures" series – a European Commission and UNDP initiative. Paweł Bagiński participated in the discussion panel that accompanied the lecture.

The aim of the lecture series is to raise public awareness and rally support for development policies in the EU Member States through public education led by experts in the field.
